Premier League giants Liverpool have set sights on securing the services of Belgian-Guinean winger Malick Fofana as a possible replacement for Federico Chiesa.
The 27-year-old Italian international is set to depart the Premier League club in the ongoing transfer window in search of regular playing time.
Chiesa struggled for playing time under manager Arne Slot, prompting his imminent departure from the club ahead of next season.
Ahead of his departure, the former Juventus attacker has been omitted from the Reds’ preseason tour in Asia. Liverpool would command a €15m transfer fee to part ways with Chiesa, who is under contract with Liverpool until 2028.
Atalanta Bergamo are reportedly leading the race to sign Chiesa, who is also of interest for Roma, Fiorentina and Bologna.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is expected to their luck in the acquisition of the Belgian-Guinean attacker amid Chiesa’s possible exit.
The Reds are reportedly on standby for the Belgium international, who is highly-rated by the Reds’ scouting department.
