Pyramids FC plotting defensive shake-up with Omar Fayed and Eyad El Askalany in sight
Fresh off their CAF Champions League triumph, Pyramids FC is moving quickly to reshape its defense for the upcoming season.
The Egyptian giants are in advanced talks to land promising defenders Omar Fayed from Fenerbahce and Eyad El Askalany from Russia’s Rostov.
With Ali Gabr, Osama Galal, Ahmed Sami, Mahmoud Marei, and Abdel Rahman Gouda already on the roster, though Gouda’s loan spell at Ceramica Cleopatra has ended, Pyramids are looking to inject youth and energy into their backline. Club insiders say the plan could involve signing both Fayed and El-Asqalani, then sending one out on loan abroad to gain more experience.
Fenerbahçe has informed 22-year-old player Omar Fayed that his services are no longer needed, and the player is also awaiting a transfer offer from a European club.
Pyramids has not yet concluded any official deals to strengthen its ranks for the new season.
Currently holding a preseason camp in Turkey, the club is keen to finalize its defensive reinforcements soon as it gears up for another strong campaign.
