Real Madrid have opted for complete silence on the reason Abdellah Ouazane failed his medical, abruptly ending what was set to be a high-profile free transfer to the Spanish giants.
The teenager, widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Europe, had already agreed to join Madrid before the move was called off at the final stage.
Ouazane, a 16-year-old Dutch-Moroccan midfielder, scored 29 goals and provided 10 assists last season while operating from midfield — an extraordinary output that convinced Real Madrid’s recruitment team he was destined for their first team.
One club scout even labelled him “a generational talent.”
The youngster travelled over 2,000 miles to Madrid to finalise a five-year deal and undergo the routine medical. But it was at this critical juncture that the transfer collapsed.
According to multiple sources, Ouazane did not pass the club’s medical examination — prompting Madrid to immediately withdraw from the agreement, despite having reached consensus on personal terms.
The exact nature of the medical concern remains undisclosed, as both the club and the player’s entourage have agreed to keep details confidential in order to protect the teenager’s long-term career.
Though his dream of playing for Real Madrid is currently on hold, the promising midfielder is expected to attract fresh interest from other clubs.
