AS FAR sign new eight players ahead of 2025/26 football season

AS FAR Rabat have bolstered their squad with eight new signings ahead of the 2025-26 season as head coach Alexandre Santos embarks on a squad rebuild.

The Moroccan giants have strengthened every area of the team to add depth and cover for several key departures.

The new recruits include:

  • Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti (29, goalkeeper): Joining on a free transfer from Wydad Casablanca, Tagnaouti is a decorated keeper with five Botola Pro titles and a 2022 CAF Champions League win to his name. He was also part of Morocco’s squad during their historic 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar.

  • Marouane Louadni (28, centre-back): Returning to AS FAR from Umm Salal SC in Qatar, Louadni comes in as a free agent with previous experience at FUS Rabat and Rapide Oued Zem.

  • Mohamed El Abd Nouh (24, centre-back): The Mauritanian international has joined from FC Nouadhibou in a deal worth $180,000, bringing youthful energy to the defense.

  • Taoufik Razko (26, midfielder): Signed from JS Soualem for $38,000, Razko impressed last season with 26 league appearances, netting 3 goals and providing 2 assists.

  • Soulaimane El Bouchqali (25, central midfielder): The midfielder returns to AS FAR after the club activated a buy-back clause from Renaissance Zemamra, committing to a contract until 2028.

  • Hamza Khabba (29, striker): Coming back on a free transfer from Kuwait’s Al Arabi, Khabba was the league’s top scorer with 21 goals and ranked second for assists.

  • Jamal Ech Chamakh (27, left-back): Arriving from Hassania Agadir, Ech Chamakh brings solid defensive experience with 139 league appearances and 4 goals.

  • Abdelhamid Yunis (37, centre-back): The veteran Moroccan international signed as a free agent from Saint-Étienne, adding valuable experience to the backline.

These additions come as replacements for departed players including Hatim Es-Saoubi, Larbi Naji, Hicham Boussefiane, El Hassan Hobeib, Henock Inonga, Et-Tayab Boukheriss, and Akram Nakkach.

AS FAR now turn their focus to preparations for the upcoming Botola season and CAF competitions, aiming to challenge once again for top honors.
