Qatar express interest in hosting the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup

FCWC Main

Qatar are once again setting their sights on the global football stage, with reports emerging that the Gulf nation is keen to host the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.

As the inaugural expanded version of the tournament unfolds in the United States in 2025, Qatar is preparing a potential bid to take the reins for the next edition.

According to The Guardian, discussions have already taken place between Qatari officials and senior figures within FIFA.

While a formal announcement has not yet been made, the signs point toward a serious and coordinated effort by the nation that successfully hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

One key aspect of Qatar’s proposal could be the scheduling of the tournament in the winter months, similar to how the 2022 World Cup was held.

The shift away from the traditional summer window would help mitigate the country’s extreme heat and provide a more comfortable environment for players and fans alike.

Qatar’s interest highlights its ongoing commitment to investing in world-class sporting events and utilizing its modern infrastructure — including state-of-the-art stadiums and transportation systems — to continue building its legacy in football.

If selected, Qatar would bring its experience, organization, and signature hospitality back to center stage for yet another major FIFA event.

Qatar is the newest nation to show the intentions to organize the edition of the FIFA Club World Cup in four years after Brazil, Spain and Morocco.
