England and Nigerian midfielder Eberechi Eze poised for Crystal Palace exit amid Premier League interest

Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, with technical director Andrea Berta now in direct talks with the player’s representatives over a potential transfer.

Eze, who is of Nigerian heritage, has emerged as one of the most sought-after attacking midfielders in the Premier League.

His creativity and versatility have drawn interest from several top clubs, most notably Tottenham Hotspur, who have long considered him a priority signing this summer.

According to The Sun, Eze is open to leaving Selhurst Park during the current transfer window, and Arsenal are now firmly in the frame.

The 26-year-old has a release clause set at £68 million, meaning Palace’s influence over his next move could be minimal if a club triggers the clause.

The Gunners’ growing interest is said to be driven by Berta, who joined the club this summer with a mandate to reshape Mikel Arteta’s squad for the upcoming Champions League campaign.

Talks between Berta and Eze’s agents are believed to be progressing, with Arsenal hopeful of beating their North London rivals to the England international’s signature.

While Spurs were previously thought to be leading the race, sources suggest Eze would prefer a move to the Emirates if offered a choice between the two clubs.

Arsenal’s return to Europe’s elite competition and their more settled squad are seen as decisive factors.

With the player’s clause clearly defined, the final decision now rests with Eze and the club willing to meet the asking price. Arsenal are expected to ramp up their activity in the coming days as they aim to wrap up key business early in the window.
