Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo set for Al-Swehly move in reported $10m deal

Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo is close to completing a high-profile move to Libyan champions Al-Swehly after being offered a lucrative contract that could make him one of the highest-paid Ghanaian footballers.

The 28-year-old has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe following an impressive spell in Spain. However, sources indicate that none of the European offers has matched the financial package proposed by Al-Swehly.

The Libyan club are understood to have tabled a deal worth around $10 million, placing them firmly in the driving seat to secure the midfielder’s signature.

Sibo has already travelled to Egypt, where Al-Swehly are currently holding their pre-season training camp, as negotiations enter their final stages.

While the Ghana international continues to weigh up options from Europe, the financial terms on offer from Al-Swehly have proven difficult for rival clubs to match.

His reputation has grown significantly over the past year thanks to a series of impressive performances in Spain, where he established himself as a commanding presence in midfield.

Sibo also enhanced his standing on the international stage with a string of strong displays for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including an eye-catching performance against England.

The midfielder must now decide whether to remain in Europe or accept a deal that would secure his financial future.

Sibo is expected to undergo a medical before completing the move and could be officially unveiled by Al-Swehly on Tuesday.
