The head coach of Mamelodi Sundowns, Miguel Cardoso, has charged his team to put up a fight in their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup opening game against Ulsan Hyundai.
The South African club will face the team from South Korea on Tuesday, June 17, in a Group F encounter of the ongoing tournament in the United States of America.
Speaking in a pre-match interview, Sundowns Coach Miguel Cardoso stressed the importance of securing victory against Ulsan.
“We have to collect points first, and this requires a distinguished performance in tomorrow’s match. I know the competition will be tough, but it will be a great experience. We have to push ourselves to the limit to exceed expectations in this tournament,” Coach Miguel Cardoso said.
He continued, “I’m looking forward to seeing how we perform against an Asian team, as well as against Dortmund and the Brazilian team. These are three different tests, and we have to take advantage of all of them.”
Tuesday’s match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Ulsan will kick off at 10 pm.
