Bayern Munich admit ‘no agreement yet’ over Leroy Sane’s future

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed that the club has yet to reach a new contract agreement with winger Leroy Sane, whose current deal expires this summer.

The situation leaves the 29-year-old’s future at the Allianz Arena uncertain as the Bundesliga champions push to secure his long-term commitment.

Sane, who has Senegalese roots through his father, former footballer Souleymane Sane, remains a crucial part of Bayern’s attacking lineup.

However, contract talks have hit a roadblock, with reports suggesting that the German giants have proposed terms involving a significant pay cut, prompting the winger to switch agents in a bid to secure a better deal.

Freund, speaking to Sky Sport in Germany, admitted that while discussions have been ongoing, no breakthrough has been achieved.

“There is currently no agreement, that’s true. The talks have been ongoing for some time now, but they are good talks. We’ll see if there is an agreement in the next few days or weeks,” he said.

Sane’s situation has drawn attention from several top European clubs, aware that the Germany international could become a high-profile free agent if the standoff continues into the summer.

The former Manchester City star, who joined Bayern in 2020, has been a key figure for the Bavarians, helping the club secure multiple domestic titles.
