Morocco captain, Hossam El Sadek, says they had two aims ahead of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The North African country has secured a place in the upcoming U-20 World Cup, which will be hosted in Chile later this year.
However, after booking a place in the final of the tournament, El Sadek says their aim is to win the tournament.
“We came with two goals: the first is to reach the World Cup in Chile, and we succeeded in this mission without any difficulties, while the ultimate goal is to return to Morocco with the title,” he said after their win against Egypt on Thursday.
“This was the request of the president of the Football Association, as well as the goal of the Moroccan fans and our shared goal with them, and we are one step away from that.
“We see this cup as very close to us. Our journey, our records, and our development from one match to the next give us confidence and optimism to be the most deserving winners of the cup,” he added.
Hossam El-Sadiq was named the player of the match against Egypt.
