Emad El Nahhas keeps calm as Al Ahly grind out key win
Al Ahly head coach Emad El Nahhas stayed calm and clinical as his side ground out a 1-0 victory over Ceramica Cleopatra in the Egyptian Premier League.
Though the performance lacked attacking fireworks, El Nahhas was satisfied with how his team handled the game. He explained that Al Ahly focused more on keeping their shape and closing spaces rather than pushing forward aggressively.
“Our main goal is to retain the league title, regardless of the way we play, whether in attack or defence. We gave possession to Ceramica but we won in the end,” he said.
The coach highlighted defender Yasser Ibrahim’s crucial late intervention and applauded the efforts of Mustafa El Ash and Ahmed Nabil Kuka. He also commended Ashraf Ben Chergui and Tahir Mohamed Tahir for their strong showings.
El Nahhas addressed the timing of his substitutions, stating he expects players to give everything on the pitch before thinking about changes.
With two games left, he’s locked in on finishing strong, noting the club decides his future—but for now, all focus is on the title.
