Bayern Munich plot move to sign French-Ivorian defender Joane Gadou to strengthen squad

German Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, are eyeing a summer move to sign France-born defender of Ivorian descent Joane Gadou.

The runaway champions are already planning on how to strengthen their squad for the 2025/26 football season.

This season, the club has suffered from several injuries to their defensive backline. Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano and Hiroki Ito have suffered various injuries, missing a number of games in the process.

In other to increase options in the team’s defense, Bayern Munich deem it necessary to bring in a few defenders.

Among the players identified, Bayern Munich have decided to recruit Joane Gadou from Austrian Bundesliga side Red Bull Salzburg.

The 18-year-old only moved to Salzburg a year ago from PSG for a fee of 10 million euros.

He could cost Bayern Munich double of that price if the club goes ahead to contact the Austrian club for the player.

Meanwhile, the Munich-based club is also working on a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.

Tah, 28, will become a free agent at the end of the 2024/25 football season when his contract expires.
