Wydad Casablanca coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem says they are not giving up on finishing in the second-place spot.
Wydad boosted their chances with a 2-1 win against AS FAR in the Moroccan topflight on Saturday at the Stade Mohammed V.
“We believe in our chances of finishing second, and we will fight for it until the last minute of the league,” he said after the game.
“Yes, this is the challenge and the thinking within the team. We are fully convinced that everything will remain on the field until the last minute, so we will spare no effort in fighting until we achieve our goal.
“We will focus on playing each match independently, without thinking about the results of others.
“I feel a lot of appreciation here because Wydad is my second home and because I have played for this team many times as a player, assistant, and today as a coach.” He concluded his statements.
“We have a wonderful crowd and a united group, and we will work together so that Wydad returns stronger than before,” he added.
Following the win, Wydad now sit 3rd on the league log with 48 points.
