Pyramids are on the brink of a landmark season, with the club emerging as strong contenders for all major titles.
Re-established in 2018 under their current identity, Pyramids are now just a few matches away from completing an unprecedented treble: the Egyptian Premier League, the Egypt Cup, and the CAF Champions League.
Under the guidance of Croatian head coach Krunoslav Jurčić, the Sky Blues have already claimed silverware, having lifted the Egypt Cup last season.
This year, they have built on that success and are well-positioned to claim further glory.
Pyramids currently lead the Egyptian Premier League with 44 points, holding a four-point advantage over traditional powerhouse Al Ahly, who sit in second place.
Domestically, Pyramids are set to face Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final on May 20.
On the continental stage, they are preparing for a decisive CAF Champions League semi-final second leg against South Africa’s Orlando Pirates, scheduled for Friday.
The first leg ended in a goalless draw, giving Pyramids a strong opportunity to reach the final for the first time in their history.
Winning all three titles in one season is considered one of the rarest and most prestigious accomplishments in African club football.
In Egypt, only Al Ahly have managed to complete the treble, doing so on four occasions.
The first came in the 2005–2006 season under Portuguese coach Manuel José, followed by a repeat the next year. Al Ahly’s third treble occurred in the COVID-interrupted 2019–2020 campaign, with Rene Weiler and Pitso Mosimane sharing coaching duties.
Most recently, Marcel Koller led them to another treble in the 2022–2023 season.
Now, Pyramids aim to write their own chapter in the history books. With strong performances and growing momentum, the team is determined to etch their name alongside the continent’s elite.
Each remaining fixture in both domestic and continental competitions holds the potential to define their legacy and confirm their place among Egypt’s footballing greats.
