Enppi took control of their Egyptian Capital Cup quarter-final tie with a 2-0 victory over Hiras Al Hudud at Petrosport Stadium on Tuesday night.
The home side showed patience and discipline, eventually breaking the deadlock in the 50th minute when Mohamed Sherif Hathout found the net. Ahmed Sabiha doubled the advantage in the 72nd minute, giving Hamza El-Gamal’s men a solid lead heading into the return leg.
Despite a late setback when defender Mohamed Ismail Hamed received a red card in the 88th minute, Enppi held firm to close out the match. The win puts them in a strong position ahead of the second leg, which is set for 21 May.
Enppi’s confident display brings them closer to a semi-final place at the expense of Mohamed Youssef’s Al-Haram. Elsewhere in the competition, Ismaili face Tala’a Al-Jish on Wednesday, Modern Sport go up against Al-Ahly Bank, and Ceramica Cleopatra clash with Petrojet on Thursday.
With momentum on their side, Enppi will look to finish the job and move a step closer to the final.
