Victor Osimhen spearheaded Galatasaray’s commanding 5-1 victory over Konyaspor on Tuesday, propelling the Istanbul giants into the Turkish Cup final for the first time since 2019.
The Nigerian striker, on loan from Napoli, opened the scoring in the 26th minute with a powerful header and played a pivotal role in two additional goals, bringing his season tally to 31 in all competitions.
The semi-final clash at the Medas Konya Büyükşehir Stadium saw Galatasaray assert dominance early on.
Osimhen’s initial goal set the tone, and just before halftime, Lucas Torreira capitalised on a rebound from another Osimhen header to double the lead.
Shortly after the break, Roland Sallai extended the advantage to 3-0.
Konyaspor managed to reduce the deficit in the 53rd minute through Pedrinho.
However, Galatasaray responded swiftly, with Sallai netting his second goal just two minutes later.
Yusuf Demir sealed the emphatic win with a late goal in stoppage time.
With this victory, Galatasaray advances to the Turkish Cup final, where they will face the winner of the upcoming semi-final between Trabzonspor and Göztepe.
The Lions aim to secure their 19th Turkish Cup title and their first since 2019.
