Ivory Coast international Christian Kouamé scored his first goal for Empoli in Italy on Saturday when his club shared the spoils with Como in the Serie A.

The on-loan Fiorentina attacker emerged as the hero as his outfit played out a 1-1 draw with Como in a highly competitive clash.

Empoli needed motivation after falling behind 1-0, and the Ivorian star stepped up in the 75th minute for the club. Kouamé met Pezzella’s well placed cross and headed home the much needed equalizer, earning his outfit an important away draw.

With a perfect header, the Ivorian striker demonstrated his skill and shown that he can play a significant role in the relegation fight.

Before this goal, Kouamé had not scored in the Serie A since April 2024. However, the strike against Como ensured he ended his goal drought in Italy between Fiorentina and Empoli.

The 27-year-old joined Empoli during the January transfer window and has since scored one goal and provided one assist in seven matches.
