Sevilla FC is seeing its squad gradually return to full strength, with Nigerian forward Akor Adams edging closer to a comeback after a lengthy injury layoff.
Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian Chidera Ejuke is steadily regaining his form, offering hope for the Andalusian club as they push forward in their campaign.
Akor Adams Nears Full Recovery
Adams, who has been sidelined for five weeks with a myofascial thigh injury, is making significant progress in his rehabilitation.
Having played just 10 minutes in 2025 due to his setback, the striker has now resumed partial training with the first team, a promising sign for both player and club.
Sevilla head coach García Pimienta expressed optimism about Adams’ recovery while stressing the importance of not rushing his return.
“The players are recovering, and the infirmary is almost empty. Akor has completed part of the training and feels very good. Tomorrow, he will return to full training, and we will evaluate his condition without putting pressure on him,” Pimienta stated.
Although his availability for upcoming fixtures remains uncertain, Adams’ return to training suggests he could soon be back in action.
His physical presence and goal-scoring ability would provide a valuable boost to Sevilla’s attack, which has struggled at times this season.
Ejuke Showing Signs of Improvement
While Adams is working towards a comeback, Chidera Ejuke is steadily regaining match fitness after his own injury struggles.
The winger had initially found it difficult to hit peak form following his return to the squad, but recent performances have impressed his manager.
“Ejuke hasn’t been at his best, which is understandable after his injury. But in our last game, he contributed a lot, both defensively and offensively. I’m really happy for him—he deserves it,” said Pimienta.
Ejuke’s speed and dribbling ability have begun to make a noticeable impact on Sevilla’s attacking play.
As he continues to improve, his influence in the team is expected to grow, though he will need to maintain consistency to secure a regular starting role.
Sevilla Looking to Strengthen Squad Depth
With both Adams and Ejuke nearing their best, Sevilla FC is set to benefit from added depth in the attacking department.
As the season progresses, their returns could be crucial in boosting the team’s performances, particularly in tight matches where individual brilliance can make the difference.
For now, all eyes remain on Adams’ fitness, with Sevilla hopeful that their Nigerian striker will soon be fully available to reinforce their attacking options.
