We have achieved part of our goals – Sudan coach Kwesi Appiah

Head coach of the Sudan, James Kwesi Appiah says his outfit has achieved part of their goals as the team prepare for the continuation of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Falcons of Jediane will face Senegal on March 18 before taking on South Sudan on March 24 in the fifth and sixth rounds of the qualifiers in Group B.

Having secured 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification after second placed finish, the former Black Stars gaffer believes he has achieved part of the targets rolled out by the Sudan FA.

Meanwhile, the experienced Ghanaian trainer is aspiring to achieve more with the Falcons of Jediane.

“Senegal is a strong team, but they are not the only ones, and we are also one of the best teams on the continent. We have performed well, and everyone is now talking about the team as strong. We have achieved part of our goals, and now we aspire to achieve more,” he said as quoted by Koora.com.

Meanwhile, Kwesi Appiah has called on the Football association to grant incentives to the players ahead of the crucial 2026 World Cup qualification.

“I hope that the federation will give incentive bonuses to the players, as they deserve it after the great performance they gave. Such incentives will help them achieve a positive result against a big team like Senegal, which will enhance our chances even more.”

Sudan currently sit top of Group B with 10 points following their impressive performance in the initial four matches.
