Danish international of Nigerian descent Patrick Dorgu has set an unwanted record at Manchester United, becoming the club’s second youngest player to be sent off in the English Premier League.
Dorgu, who joined the Red Devils in the January transfer window was handed a starting role when his side locked horns with Ipswich Town at the Old Trafford.
Unfortunately, the talented defender received the marching orders in the 43rd minute following a reckless foul against an opponent player, making him the second youngest player in Manchester United’s history to be sent off in a Premier League match after Luke Shaw.
He is currently 20 years and 123 days old. The only younger player to receive a red card for United in the EPL was Luke Shaw, who was sent off in February 2015 at the age of 19 years and 211 days.
Despite the red card incident, Manchester United managed to beat Ipswich Town 3-2 at their own backyard on Wednesday night.
