Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal has weighed in on the ongoing referee debates in La Liga, urging teams to focus on the game rather than officiating decisions.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish winger dismissed the frequent protests, particularly from Real Madrid this season, and emphasized a fair approach to the sport.
“We teams like Real Madrid, Barça, Atlético … We must not complain about the referees. They just try to do their best.”
Yamal also addressed the shifting narratives surrounding officiating in the Copa del Rey.
“At first it was said that the referees would prefer Madrid, and then against Osasuna it was said that they were against them. It will be like that every week.”
Despite the controversy, Yamal defended the officials, acknowledging the difficulty of their job.
“The referees try to do their best. It is a very difficult job because someone will always be dissatisfied. We are very satisfied.”
