Guinea’s women’s national team will face Cape Verde in the first round of qualifiers for the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AFCON), with both legs set for February 21 and 26.
However, due to the absence of CAF-approved stadiums in Guinea, the team will play its home fixture on neutral ground.
Originally scheduled to take place in Guinea, the first leg will now be held at the Lat Dior Stadium in Thiès, Senegal, on February 21.
The relocation comes as Guinea lacks stadiums meeting CAF’s required standards.
Coach Kaman Camara’s squad will aim for a strong start in Senegal before traveling to Praia, Cape Verde, for the return match on February 26.
Meanwhile, Senegal, which was set to face Chad in the qualifiers, has advanced directly to the next round following Chad’s withdrawal from the competition.
