Malian striker Elhadji Koné has signed a contract with Belgian side Cercle Bruges, securing a deal until 2027 with an option for a further year. The 19-year-old will initially join the club’s reserve team as he adapts to Belgian football.
Koné, who previously played in Morocco’s fourth division, expressed his delight at making the move to Europe.
“I come from a club in Morocco, which plays in the fourth division.
It is thanks to my agent that I was able to have a trial in Belgium at Cercle Bruges and, by the grace of Allah, it worked out… I am currently playing with the reserves while I continue to progress,” he said.
The young forward’s arrival marks another step in Bruges’ strategy of identifying and developing promising talent.
