Cameroon international Vincent Aboubakar has embarked on an ambitious project to develop young football talent in his home country, laying the groundwork for his legacy while still an active player.

The 33-year-old Hatayspor striker, who has been a key figure for the Indomitable Lions with 104 caps and 40 goals, has launched a football academy in Yaoundé, Cameroon’s political capital.

His goal is to provide a structured platform for young players to develop their skills and pursue professional careers.

Aboubakar, aware of the immense potential within Cameroonian football, hopes to give aspiring players the resources and guidance needed to follow in his footsteps.

His academy is focused on identifying, training, and mentoring promising young talents to prepare them for the highest levels of the game.

Despite being originally from Garoua in northern Cameroon, Aboubakar strategically chose Yaoundé as the location for his academy to reach a broader pool of young athletes.

The centre has already begun scouting players in the U14 and U17 age groups, drawing thousands of hopefuls eager to seize the opportunity.

With this initiative, Aboubakar aims to contribute to the long-term development of football in Cameroon, ensuring that future generations have the foundation needed to succeed on both domestic and international stages.
