Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has expressed his willingness to extend his stay at the Premier League club beyond his current contract.
The Nigerian international, who joined Forest last summer, spoke highly of his experience with the team and its environment.
“I hope so. I really enjoy being here. I enjoy the staff, the players, the club, the community.
Everything about this place is good, so I hope so,” Aina told Sky Sports, hinting at his desire to remain at the City Ground.
Aina Praises Teammate Chris Wood
The 27-year-old also took time to commend Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood, who has been in fine form this season.
Aina spoke about the New Zealand international’s character and his impact on the team.
“He’s the most laid-back, normal guy you’ll ever meet. He doesn’t bother anyone, he doesn’t get in the way, he goes about his business, can joke around as well, so he’s got a bit of everything,” Aina said.
Acknowledging Wood’s recent performances, he added: “That’s just Chris Wood, he’s in fantastic form, so good for him, he deserves it.”
With Aina settling in well and contributing to Forest’s campaign, discussions over a contract extension could soon be on the horizon.
