Ghana striker Brandon Thomas-Asante played a pivotal role as Coventry City secured a 2-0 victory over Swansea City at the Swansea.com Stadium, marking their first-ever triumph over the Welsh side.

The visitors took an early lead in the 17th minute when Thomas-Asante turned from scorer to provider, setting up Ellis Simms, who calmly finished from close range.

Despite dominating possession, Swansea struggled to break down Coventry’s well-organized defense, failing to create clear chances.

Just before the break, Thomas-Asante extended Coventry’s lead with a stunning goal. After collecting the ball just outside the box, he struck a powerful right-foot shot into the top corner, leaving Swansea’s goalkeeper with no chance.

Swansea pushed forward in the second half, but their efforts fell short as they managed just six shots, none of which troubled the Coventry keeper.

Meanwhile, Coventry remained efficient, capitalizing on their opportunities to secure all three points.

Thomas-Asante’s goal and assist bring his tally to four goals and two assists in 29 Championship appearances this season.

Coventry City, now in 11th place with 41 points, will aim to continue their strong form when they face Leeds United on February 5th at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
