Wilfried Kanga’s rollercoaster journey at Hertha BSC has come to an end, with the striker making a permanent switch to Dinamo Zagreb.
The 26-year-old center forward’s current loan deal with Cardiff City was cut short, paving the way for the Ivorian to find a new chapter in Croatia.
Kanga’s time at Hertha BSC was marred by inconsistency, with only two goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances following his move from BSC Young Boys in 2021. His struggles continued in the second division with Cardiff City, where he failed to find the back of the net in 15 appearances. After a challenging first half of the season in Wales, Hertha and Kanga’s representatives decided to end the loan agreement early.
“Another opportunity arises,” said Hertha’s sporting director, Benjamin Weber, reflecting on the forward’s future. The Ivorian now looks set to make his mark at Dinamo Zagreb, with the Croatian giants reportedly securing his signature for around two million euros. A fresh start awaits Kanga as he seeks to reignite his career in the Croatian top-flight.
