Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek have reportedly made significant progress in negotiations to extend the contract of their star player, Ahmed Mostafa Sayed, popularly known as Zizo.
According to sources cited by Kooora, former Zamalek president Mamdouh Abbas has taken a personal interest in resolving Zizo’s contract renewal.
Abbas reportedly reached out to the player and his father, promising to meet Zizo’s financial demands while adjusting them to align with the club’s overall salary structure.
Zizo is said to have agreed in principle to a three-year contract extension, with an annual salary ranging between EGP 50 and 70 million. As part of the agreement, Abbas has committed to immediately paying the first year’s salary upon signing the deal, which Zizo has accepted.
The 27-year-old winger, whose current contract with Zamalek expires at the end of this season, had previously turned down an offer to join Saudi Arabia’s Neom at the beginning of the campaign.
A source within Zamalek’s management has confirmed that a meeting is planned between the club’s board members and Zizo in the coming weeks to finalise the agreement and sign the new contract.
If the deal is completed, it will secure Zizo’s services for three more seasons, ensuring that the prolific attacker remains a key part of Zamalek’s ambitions for domestic and continental success.
