Al Ahly register Achraf Dari and Reda Slim

Al Ahly have included Moroccan duo Achraf Dari and Reda Slim in their squad for the new season after the Egyptian champions were unable to complete moves for either player during the summer transfer window.

The decision is understood to be a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the club does not lose its rights over the two players by leaving them unregistered.

An Al Ahly source explained that the club remains willing to consider offers for both players if suitable proposals arrive in the coming period.

Reda Slim had been linked with a move away from Cairo and reportedly turned down an opportunity to join Al Masry on loan. The winger would prefer a return to his former club FAR Rabat, but Al Ahly have not been satisfied with the Moroccan side’s proposal, particularly over the portion of his salary they would be expected to cover.

Slim’s registration also follows the serious injury suffered by fellow Moroccan Youssef Belamri, whose cruciate ligament problem is expected to rule him out for the remainder of the season.

Despite the closure of Egypt’s transfer window, Dari and Slim could still leave Al Ahly if an agreement is reached with clubs outside Egypt.

Both players are attracting interest from Morocco, with Wydad Casablanca and FAR Rabat among the clubs monitoring their situations.

For now, however, Al Ahly have opted to keep the Moroccan pair registered while continuing to assess their options regarding their futures.
