Manchester United is reportedly monitoring Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as the club considers strengthening its goalkeeping department.
The 22-year-old Dutch shot-stopper has emerged as a potential summer target to provide competition for Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana.
While Onana remains trusted by United manager Ruben Amorim, his performances have not been without scrutiny.
Sources indicate that the club’s management is evaluating the future of their current No. 1, sparking interest in Verbruggen as a viable option.
Verbruggen, who joined Brighton from Anderlecht for £16.3 million nearly 18 months ago, has impressed with his consistency and potential.
Brighton, however, is expected to demand a fee of around £30 million for the Holland international should United make a formal approach.
Adding to the speculation, reports suggest that Onana is unsettled at Old Trafford and may reassess his future with the club over the next six months.
The potential arrival of Verbruggen could serve both as healthy competition and as a contingency plan should Onana decide to move on.
