Michael Olise, the dynamic French winger, has settled quickly into life at Bayern Munich and is already feeling the difference.
In an interview with Bayern’s member magazine “51,” Olise reflected on his first six months with the German giants, contrasting his experiences at Bayern with those at his former club, Crystal Palace.
“This mentality of wanting to win. That’s impressive. And that’s also the biggest difference to my previous club Crystal Palace. There we were often in the role of the underdog – that’s never the case with Bayern,” Olise stated.
Olise’s high-energy style perfectly complements Bayern’s aggressive approach under head coach Vincent Kompany. “It’s very demanding, I like that. You always have to stay on the attack, you can’t even retreat for a short moment. This way of putting the opponent under pressure – I really like it,” he added.
Bayern Munich secured Olise’s services on July 7, 2024, from Crystal Palace for a reported €60 million, including add-ons. The five-year deal, running until June 2029, reflects Bayern’s faith in the 22-year-old’s talent and potential to thrive on the biggest stage.
