Dutch-Ghanaian striker Brian Brobbey is grappling with frustration over his missed opportunities at Ajax this season.
Despite only scoring three goals in 24 official matches, he remains disappointed with his performance.
“I haven’t been sleeping well lately. I really don’t sleep well,” Brobbey admits in an interview with NOS. “I recently hadn’t scored for seventy days. Then I slept badly for seventy nights. A lot of thinking in bed. About what needs to be improved.”
The 21-year-old also reflected on a missed chance in Ajax’s 2-0 cup victory over Telstar. “Once I get home, I immediately lie down in bed. Just calling one of my brothers about the match. This time it was Samuel. He then tells me not to hang my head. And that everything will be fine. Then I close my eyes and think about that missed opportunity again,” Brobbey shares.
“I can’t explain it. Some things are out of my hands,” he adds. “God sometimes puts me in difficult positions to ultimately make things better for me. God must do his work now. He’s going to do his job too. I trust that.”
