Ibrahim Diabaté, who recently ended his stint with Västerås SK following their relegation from Allsvenskan, is now the subject of transfer interest from Gais, who have reportedly offered the Ivorian striker a contract.
This comes after the 25-year-old’s impressive performances for Västerås, where he netted one goal in the 2024 Allsvenskan season and two more in the Swedish Cup.
The move could be a significant opportunity for Diabaté, as he is a Bosman player and can depart on a free transfer. Gais is not the only club keen on securing his services; Swedish side IFK Värnamo is also rumored to be monitoring the situation.
Born in Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire, Diabaté’s football journey began at the renowned ASEC Mimosas academy. He was promoted to the first team in 2017 after a loan spell at Ligue 2 club Ivoire Académie.
In 2018, he signed with RCD Mallorca, where he played for their B team before moving to Västerås SK in July 2023, on a 1½-year deal in Sweden’s Superettan.
