Carlo Ancelotti has once again backed Ferland Mendy, despite the impressive performances of Fran Garcia in recent weeks.
With both players competing for the same left-back spot at Real Madrid, Ancelotti made it clear that his decision-making goes beyond form, stressing his deep trust in Mendy’s abilities.
“These are technical decisions. I have full confidence in a player who helped us win two Champions League titles. Fran is good in defense and also contributes a lot up front. He has the opportunity that I gave him have been given, used optimally.” he said.
Ancelotti highlighted the technical nature of the selection process, stating that the competition between Mendy and Garcia is a healthy one, with each being given opportunities to showcase their qualities. His faith in Mendy, however, remains unshaken, with the French defender continuing to hold a key role in the squad despite Garcia’s surge in form.
