Liverpool is reportedly targeting Dutch-Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who could leave the club at the end of the season.

Frimpong, a standout right-back for Bayer Leverkusen, has caught the attention of the Premier League giants due to his versatility, attacking prowess, and defensive reliability.

Liverpool sees the 22-year-old as the ideal successor to Alexander-Arnold, who has been pivotal in their setup but is rumoured to be exploring opportunities elsewhere.

According to sources, discussions between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen have been ongoing for several weeks, with the player reportedly expressing interest in a move to England.

Bayer Leverkusen values Frimpong at €60 million, and his contract with the Bundesliga side runs until the summer of 2028.

This season, Frimpong has continued to impress, contributing two goals and three assists in 12 matches. Across his 161 appearances for Leverkusen, he has amassed 27 goals and 39 assists, highlighting his consistent offensive contributions from defense.

A move to Liverpool would mark Frimpong’s return to England, where he previously played for Manchester City’s youth academy before joining Celtic in 2019.

His dynamic style and attacking instincts could make him a perfect fit for Liverpool’s tactical system under manager Arne Slot.
