England international Troy Deeney insists Mohammed Salah is not a world-class player despite his incredible goalscoring abilities.
The Egyptian international has been pivotal since joining Liverpool back in 2017 from AS Roma.
Salah was instrumental when Liverpool clinched the Premier League title to end their drought in the top-flight and also won the Champions League title.
Despite his exploits, Deeney, a former player of Watford says he is not a world-class.
“He (Salah) is a fantastic winger, his goalscoring numbers are unbelievable, and he has achieved some really amazing things at Liverpool. But world-class? No.”
“I had a lot of defeats with Watford when Salah was amazing for Liverpool,” he added of his own experience. “But when we prepared to play them, it wasn’t like we had to stop Salah to win.
“It was a lot harder when they also had Sadio Mane, who, in my opinion, was more effective during that period than Salah.” He said as reported by Mirror.
