Ghanaian defender Abdul Rahman Baba played a pivotal role in PAOK’s 2-1 comeback victory against Asteras Tripolis in the Greek Super League on Sunday. Baba’s decisive goal came in the 85th minute, sealing a crucial win that reinforced PAOK’s second position in the league standings after 12 matches.
The game, held at the Theodoros Kolokotronis Stadium, saw PAOK dominate the first half but fail to capitalize on their chances.
Shortly after the interval, Italian forward Federico Macheda gave Asteras the lead, leaving the visitors trailing.
PAOK equalized in the 68th minute when Bulgarian midfielder Kiril Despodov found the net.
Baba was introduced as a substitute in the 75th minute, replacing Spanish defender Joan Sastre.
Just ten minutes later, the Ghanaian delivered the winning goal, converting a precise pass from Russian international Fedor Chalov to complete PAOK’s comeback.
Baba has been in outstanding form this season, with six goals and an assist in 19 appearances across all competitions, underscoring his growing importance to the Greek club.
