Yannick Touré could return to Switzerland with FC Wil

Swiss club FC Wil are in talks with Croatian side NK Osijek over a potential loan move for striker Yannick Touré, who could return to Switzerland after a difficult first season in Croatia.

The 25-year-old forward is under contract with Osijek until 2028, but the club are reportedly no longer counting on him and are open to a temporary move.

According to information from 4-4-2.ch, negotiations between the relevant parties are already under way as FC Wil look to secure Touré on loan until the end of the season.

Touré joined Osijek from FC Aarau a year ago after establishing himself in Swiss football. However, his first campaign in Croatia proved difficult, with the Dakar-born striker scoring only once in 12 appearances.

FC Wil are now hoping to use the situation to bring him back to Switzerland and provide him with an opportunity to regain his form.

A move to Wil would also represent a return to familiar surroundings for Touré. The striker previously played for the Swiss club during the second half of the 2021-22 season.

His earlier spell at Wil was a productive one. In six months with the club, Touré scored six goals and provided two assists in 17 matches.

That previous success has made a possible return particularly significant, with the current situation offering both the player and club an opportunity to renew their relationship.

For Touré, returning to the Challenge League could provide a chance to rebuild his confidence and regain regular playing time after his challenging period with Osijek.

FC Wil, meanwhile, are looking to take advantage of the striker’s availability and are working towards an agreement that would bring him back to the club on a temporary basis.

The main issue still to be resolved is financial. Wil must reach an agreement with Osijek over the terms of the proposed loan before the move can be completed.

With negotiations already taking place, Touré’s future could soon become clearer. A return to Wil would give the striker another opportunity in Switzerland, where he previously made a strong impression during his first spell with the club.

For now, the two clubs still need to settle the conditions of the loan before the proposed return can become a reality.
