With the 2024 U17 Women’s World Cup concluded, the Beninese Football Federation (FBF) is moving swiftly to prepare its national team for the 2025 edition of the tournament, set to be held in Morocco. In an early bid to strengthen its U17 women’s squad, the FBF has announced a pre-selection training camp aimed at identifying and developing talent for the upcoming international competition.
The World Cup, now shifting to an annual format, sees national teams focused on building momentum ahead of the next cycle.
Benin is among the first African teams to begin the selection and training process, an approach aimed at refining a competitive squad for the African qualifiers.
Benin’s First Training Camp for the U17 Amazons
The FBF confirmed that the pre-selection training camp for the U17 Amazons will commence on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Ayélawadjè 2 Hotel in Porto-Novo.
Thirty players have been invited for this initial phase, which will run until November 18. This camp represents a critical first step for Benin, setting the groundwork for a strong showing in the qualifiers.
In its official statement, the FBF specified the time and location for the players’ arrival, noting: “The players pre-selected for the U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, African zone, are invited to report to the Ayélawadjè 2 hotel in Porto-Novo on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the latest.”
The training sessions are aimed at evaluating each player’s potential as the FBF seeks to build a robust lineup for the tournament.

Each athlete is expected to bring training gear, a secure birth certificate or passport, and the original version of the CIP (Certificate of Identity and Personality), which is critical for eligibility verification.
This selection camp underscores Benin’s strategic approach to building a cohesive team. Under the guidance of FBF officials and coaches, the young players will be put through their paces, aiming to secure a place in the squad that will represent Benin on the African stage.
