Raja Casablanca has made an official bid to reacquire Riad Benayad, the Algerian striker currently with Espérance Sportive de Tunis (ES Tunis), as the summer transfer window in Tunisia draws to a close. With just 48 hours remaining before the window shuts, the Moroccan club is the only side to have formally expressed interest in securing Benayad on a permanent basis.

“I think that Riad Benayad’s departure is imminent.

That said, only Raja Casablanca has positioned itself by issuing an official offer.

Raja wants to get Benayad back permanently,” a source informed Africafootunited.

Benayad has been in a state of limbo since his return to ES Tunis following a six-month loan spell at Raja Casablanca.

He has been training with ES Tunis’s B team while the club’s management deliberates his future.

Despite having a contract that runs until June 30, 2025, the 27-year-old forward has found himself on the fringes, awaiting a resolution.

The sticking point appears to be the transfer fee.

ES Tunis has set a price tag of €500,000 for Benayad’s release.

The two clubs are reportedly in negotiations, with insiders suggesting that a consensus may be within reach.

The relationship between Raja Casablanca and ES Tunis has traditionally been strong, which could aid in facilitating a smooth transfer.

The clock is ticking, however, with the Tunisian summer transfer window set to close at midnight local time on September 20.

Both clubs are under pressure to finalize the deal, and any lingering uncertainties must be addressed promptly.

Sources in Tunis indicate that discussions have become more constructive in recent days, signaling a potential breakthrough.

For Benayad, the move could provide much-needed stability and a chance to reestablish himself at Raja Casablanca.

During his previous loan spell with the Moroccan side, he demonstrated his abilities, leaving a favorable impression.

Raja Casablanca is keen on bringing him back into the fold as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

ES Tunis, on the other hand, appears willing to part with the player, provided their financial demands are met.

The club’s decision to have Benayad train with the reserve team suggests that they are prepared for his departure, focusing instead on the financial aspects of the transfer.

With the deadline fast approaching, both clubs are working to iron out the final details.

The next 48 hours will be crucial in determining whether Riad Benayad will don the green of Raja Casablanca once again or remain with ES Tunis.
