English regional side Cambridge City have completed the signing of Malawian midfielder Takondwa Maosa following his departure from Brentwood Town.
The 23-year-old, who received his first senior national team call-up in April this year, described the move as a significant milestone in his football career.
“I think this is a massive step in the right direction for me. I am very grateful that God has given me the opportunity to express myself on the pitch and play for such a great club with not only amazing facilities but players, coaches, and most importantly fans. Can’t wait to get started,” Maosa said.
The former West Ham United U20 player has shown a strong desire to represent his home country after making his debut at the 2023 COSAFA U23 tournament held in South Africa.
“It’s going to be a lot of hard work, but I know we have the quality. It’s always great to have managers that believe in you, as it gives me that extra motivation to work harder for them,” Maosa added.
Maosa also played for Brentwood Town FC’s first team and U23s, who were the 2022/23 Isthmian League Development North Champions.
