Burkina Faso defender Edmond Tapsoba has made conflicting statements about his future with Bayer Leverkusen, masterfully creating suspense.
After a phenomenal season with 3 goals and an assist in 46 games, helping the team win the Bundesliga with an unbeaten record and German Cup, and finishing as a Europa League finalist, Tapsoba has become a hot commodity on the market.
Paris Saint-Germain is among the top clubs interested in signing him.
Initially, Tapsoba hinted at a possible departure, saying:
“The footballer is called upon to evolve. We play to evolve. Leverkusen is a big club, but there are others like Barça, Real, City…. One day, we are called to leave where we are,” Tapsoba said.
“So, that’s a possibility. The holidays are still long. I try to make the most of my family, my friends, and then we will see.”
However, in a recent interview with Sport News Africa, Tapsoba seemed to contradict himself, saying:
“Currently, I am a Bayer Leverkusen player, and next year, I hope to start the season.”
This latest statement may calm the rumours, but negotiations with potential suitors may still be ongoing.
