Nouadhibou has been crowned champions of the Mauritanian league for the seventh time in its history after defeating Concord 1-0 on Sunday evening at the Sheikh Bedia Stadium in the 24th round of the championship.
Issa Oumarou scored the lone goal for Nouadhibou.
The victory took Nouadhibou’s tally to 60 points, extending their lead by 7 points over their closest pursuers, the Gendarmerie, with two rounds remaining in the championship.
On the other hand, Concord’s points stopped at 21 after the defeat, placing them in 13th position (second from the bottom).
This marks the seventh consecutive season that Nouadhibou has clinched the Mauritanian league title, and their 12th overall in history.
