Crystal Palace submit loan-to-buy proposal for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi

Crystal Palace have made a formal approach to Chelsea over a deal for Axel Disasi, offering to take the central defender on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the arrangement, according to Fabrice Hawkins.

The London club have identified Disasi as their priority target to replace Maxence Lacroix, whose departure has created the need for defensive reinforcements. Discussions between Crystal Palace and Chelsea are continuing, but the two clubs have not yet reached a final agreement.

Palace are seeking to establish the terms of a transfer that would initially be structured as a loan before becoming permanent. The obligation to buy would commit the Eagles to completing the signing, although the financial conditions and other details of the proposal remain under discussion.

The clubs are still working to bring their positions closer together. No agreement has been concluded, meaning the proposed move remains subject to further negotiations between the two sides.

Alongside their talks with Chelsea, Crystal Palace’s officials have held discussions with representatives of Disasi. Those meetings focused on the framework of a possible transfer and the personal terms that could accompany a move to the London club.

The different parties are now attempting to find common ground. The player’s representatives, Chelsea and Crystal Palace remain involved in the process, with the transfer dependent on progress in both the club-to-club negotiations and the discussions surrounding Disasi.

Disasi, who is of Congolese origin from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, remains under contract at Chelsea until June 2029. The 28-year-old’s current deal means Chelsea retain a long-term contractual position as the negotiations develop.

The defender is valued at 15m euros by Transfermarkt. That valuation could become an important factor in the talks, particularly as the two clubs discuss the amount attached to the obligation to buy in Palace’s proposed loan arrangement.

Disasi earns an annual salary of 4,805,403 euros at Chelsea, equivalent to 3,123,511,950 FCFA. His wages will also form part of the financial considerations surrounding any potential transfer.

For now, Crystal Palace’s proposal represents an attempt to secure their preferred replacement for Maxence Lacroix, while Chelsea must decide whether the structure and value of the offer meet their requirements. With negotiations ongoing and no definitive agreement in place, the prospective move for Axel Disasi has not yet been completed.
