Zambia aim to respond against Togo in AFCON 2027 qualifying clash

Zambia host Togo in Ndola on Tuesday as both sides look to make a decisive early move in their Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying campaign.

The match, which kicks off at 16:00 GMT, is the second fixture for each team in the group. Zambia began with a 3-1 defeat by Algeria, while Togo opened their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Burundi at Kegue.

The Chipolopolos will be hoping home advantage can help them recover from that opening loss. Coach Moses Sichone is expected to retain a 4-2-3-1 formation, with several established players included as Zambia look to improve their balance and apply greater pressure on the Togolese defence.

The main adjustment could come on the right side, with the Togo coach seeking to address weaknesses identified in the team’s first qualifying match. Togo will again look to Kevin Denkey to lead the attack, supported by a midfield that includes Djene Dakonam and Karim Dermane.
