Zamalek near FIFA clearance as club reduces outstanding cases to five
Egyptian giants Zamalek SC are making significant progress in resolving their outstanding FIFA disputes, with the club expected to clear two more cases in the coming days.
The latest developments will reduce Zamalek’s pending FIFA cases from 18 to just five, marking a major step forward in the club’s efforts to restore financial stability and meet licensing requirements for continental competition.
The Cairo-based club has been working to settle a series of disputes involving former players, coaches and other parties, which had placed them under pressure from FIFA sanctions. The reduction in cases represents a significant improvement in the club’s administrative and financial situation.
With only five cases remaining, Zamalek are now on course to secure the necessary license to participate in next season’s CAF Champions League, provided the outstanding matters are successfully resolved within the required timeframe.
The five-time African champions have been prioritising the clearance of their FIFA obligations as part of a broader restructuring process aimed at improving the club’s standing both domestically and on the continent.
Zamalek’s progress comes as the club seeks to return to the top level of African football after facing several challenges in recent seasons, including financial difficulties and administrative instability.
The club’s management remains focused on completing the remaining settlements to ensure full compliance with CAF regulations and avoid any potential restrictions ahead of the new continental campaign.
