Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Awad considering filing complaint against club over unfair exclusion
Goalkeeper Mohamed Awad is considering escalating his standoff with Zamalek SC after remaining frozen out of first-team training for an extended period.
The shot-stopper has reportedly begun steps to file a formal complaint with the Egyptian Football Association, citing his exclusion from group training sessions for more than two months.
Awad is said to view the situation as a breach of regulations under FIFA rules.
At the heart of the dispute is an internal investigation initiated by the club. However, Awad has yet to be informed of its outcome, even as he continues to train away from the main squad.
Tensions between the goalkeeper and the club’s hierarchy, including the technical bench, are understood to have intensified after Awad voiced frustration over being relegated to the substitutes’ role.
That disagreement ultimately led to his exclusion from full team training, deepening a rift that now appears set to move beyond the club level.
