Yvan Neyou emerges as Volos target after returning to Getafe

Yvan Neyou, the Cameroonian-French midfielder currently at Getafe, is being linked with a move to Greek Super League 1 club Volos.

The 29-year-old defensive midfielder has not featured for Getafe in La Liga this season, with the Spanish club having played three league matches. He has also not appeared in the club’s two Conference League qualifying fixtures.

Neyou joined Getafe from Leganes on a free transfer in July 2025, but spent the second half of last season on loan at Saudi Arabian club Al-Okhdood. He returned to Getafe at the end of June, and the reported interest from Volos comes as he seeks a route back into regular first-team football.

The midfielder played a part in Leganes’ promotion to Spain’s top flight in 2023-24, when the club also won the Segunda Division title. Leganes were relegated the following season before Neyou moved to Getafe.

He began his senior career in France before joining Braga B and later Saint-Etienne, where he made his move into Spanish football via Leganes.

Neyou remains under contract at Getafe until 30 June 2028, meaning any move to Volos would require an agreement between the clubs. The reported approach has not been confirmed, and no transfer fee or probability has been disclosed.
