AS Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana has expressed his calmness regarding his future, even as he prepares to represent France at Euro 2024. The 25-year-old, who has been called up by Didier Deschamps for the tournament in Germany, addressed the media at a press conference on Thursday, showcasing his pride and confidence.

Fofana reflected on his journey and development as a player before discussing his contractual situation with Monaco. “I have one year left on my contract.

My future, I spoke about it with the leaders, it’s not a secret. We have an agreement to move towards this new stage. If that doesn’t happen, I will do this last season in Monaco,” Fofana stated.

He emphasized his focus on the present, adding, “I hope everyone wins this summer. I’m not thinking about it at the moment.

I have a very nice sporting entourage who takes care of that. It’s not my job, I’m going to concentrate on what I know how to do, the field.”

When questioned about potential interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Fofana remained diplomatic and focused on his immediate goals with the French national team.

“It’s a big French club which is already a big one in Europe. There is no cut yet.

Do I see myself there? Not necessarily, I don’t fixate. If it comes, why not? If it doesn’t come, I’m not going to have nightmares about it,” he remarked.

Fofana’s composure and maturity were evident throughout the press conference, reflecting a player at ease with his career trajectory and the uncertainties that come with it.

His ability to stay grounded while balancing club and national team responsibilities highlights his professionalism and dedication to his craft.

Regardless of what the future holds, Fofana’s immediate priority is to contribute to France’s success in the upcoming tournament, further establishing himself as a key player on the international stage.
