Happy Mashiane unavailable for Siwelele FC against former club Kaizer Chiefs

Siwelele FC head coach Godfrey Mosoetsa says Happy Mashiane will not be eligible to face Kaizer Chiefs because the defender has not yet signed a contract with the club.

The 28-year-old left-back is currently a free agent after leaving Chiefs. He has returned to Siwelele FC, where he spent last season on loan, as he looks to revive his career.

Mashiane has been training with Siwelele FC’s first team while the club works to complete the administrative process required to secure his services and register him as a player.

Mosoetsa confirmed that the outstanding paperwork means Mashiane cannot be selected for the meeting with his former club.

“At the moment, there are still certain administrative issues, but he is still working hard, it’s things being on outside the four walls,” he said.

“But he is still training, he hasn’t been signed yet so he’s not available but it’s things being sorted out administratively.”

Mashiane came through the Kaizer Chiefs academy before breaking into the senior team. He made 69 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
